| The International Theatre Festival Labyrinths of Acting |
The International Theatre Festival Labyrinths of Acting is Europe's first festival to focus primarily on analysis of dramatic language of Europe's schools of acting, as well in practice – represented by actual productions and practical workshops – as in theory – represented by analysis-oriented classes. The stage productions presented by the participating schools are therefore not seen as the festival's goal, but rather as a starting point for subsequent research and confrontation of various theoretical systems of acting, originating in diverse traditions of European theatre.
The productions, classes and workshops are attended by all participating scholars, actors and teachers throughout the festival's duration. This will help to provide adequate creative conditions and concentrated atmosphere for everyone involved.
Among the questions the classes and workshops will deal with is the question of how far is the resulting production influenced by the dramatic language of the given school of acting.
The festival is under patronage from President of the Olomouc Region, RNDr. Ivan Kosatík, Mayor of the City of Olomouc, Martin Novotný, ITI - International Theatre Institute and Václav Havel.
International theatre festival Labyrinths of Acting is organized by The Labyrinth not-for-profit organization in co-operation with the Theatre, Film and Media Studies Department of Palacký Univeristy's Faculty of Arts.
